In a shared car park, someone will eventually ask: what makes up my monthly charging total? A good system provides more than the final amount. It shows the sessions, measured energy and applied rate, so each user can trace their consumption and charge.
Before the first session, agree how energy is measured, residents identified and the month closed.
Different needs produce different consumption
Three residents share one charging system in our example. One commutes daily, one mainly works from home and one drives less often, so each has a different month-end total.
The system must preserve that distinction: every session identifies who charged and how much. If a shared card is used, keep records that reveal who used it.
The current Zaptec Pro has an integrated MID meter for consumption (Zaptec Pro). Chosen access management and settlement determine who sessions belong to and what they cost.
A monthly report anyone can recalculate
The three residents' completed sessions total 210, 160 and 90 kWh. The unit price is 80 Ft/kWh, invented for illustration and not a current tariff or offer. The amounts below show only energy value calculated this way.

If C queries the amount, the operator opens C's sessions. They total 90 kWh at the rate fixed for the period, so 7200 Ft can be recalculated from existing data.
The same method serves everyone. A later question is resolved against the relevant row rather than memory of the entire month.
Settlement should start from four connected data points
The report shows who used how much energy in kWh during which period and the unit rate. Session identifiers make details retrievable.
Zaptec Portal exports charging data by installation, charger and user (Zaptec Portal and reports). Save period data together with the tariff applied at month-end.
Treat standing, parking or shared costs as separate items under an agreed rule. Everyone can then see what depends directly on their own consumption.
What if the central meter differs?
Suppose the charging area's central meter rises by 500 kWh over the same period. Sessions total 460 kWh, leaving a 40 kWh difference that first needs explaining.
Check that both totals start and end together. Then establish whether the central meter covers chargers alone or other equipment, and whether the session list is complete and all data has arrived.
The 40 kWh proves neither a particular loss nor excess use by a resident. Once the cause is found, shared items can follow the agreed process. Retain the investigation alongside monthly data.
Residents can then understand why the operator investigates a discrepancy and how it will be resolved.
Review the full path from measurement to settlement
Measurement, permissions, price calculation and payment may sit in different systems. Ask the chosen provider for a complete monthly example from identification to finished report.
Zaptec's API overview names billing and accounting systems as integration uses (Zaptec API integration). That is a software interface; metrology, invoicing and tax conditions in Hungary must be addressed separately for the service concerned.
The MID meter measures consumption. Adapt the remaining steps to site operations.
Use a trial month to prepare normal operation
Set a month-end time and owner. Produce a sample report for three users, then verify total session energy and the rate applied.
Test onboarding the first new user too: give personal access, explain conditions and ensure the trial session appears correctly. The shared car park then retains one simple, traceable monthly process as use grows.
